Thanks to everyone for today. We all know it was an important game, both on and off the pitch and Nigel, Paul and I appreciated everyone's efforts.
A special mention to Paul for running the line and Gino for wearing the respect bib.
The feedback from the referee, Ely coaches and Ely staff was really positive, putting our November fixture firmly in the past.
On to the match itself....
We all know the wind played it's part today, but both teams had a chance in each half to take the advantage and when it came down to it the Colts wanted it more by the look of things.
Today were were dogged and resolute from the off, learnt how to play the wind and went in to the break a well deserved 0-2 up. The second half handed the home team the advantage and it showed, but ultimatley were put in the tackles, rode our luck and came away the winners.
Well done to each and every player for doing their bit today, I know a few have some bruises to show for it but I think you'll all agree it was an amazing game to watch, a real nailbiter.
Congratulations U13's, you are the 2018/2019 League runners up.
