This is the first time we've played Sawston Utd. this season, and they're the team that have led the league for most of the season until we took top position in February. So a tight game was expected and it was an important game for the league.
Potton Colts FC 1-0 Sawston Utd.
A slightly depleted Potton produced one of their best performances of the season with a hard fought win against a very strong Sawston side boasting the leagues top scorer.
A very even first half saw Potton create a few chances but some good defending by Sawston kept things level at half time.
The second half was more of the same with neither side giving an inch. It took a great goal from Liam to give Potton the lead picking the ball up 25 yds out and hitting a great shot which flew in over the keepers head. Sawston pushed for an equaliser but Potton held on to secure a third successive promotion. Mitchell and Max producing probably their best games of the season. Mitchell in particular keeping their top goal scorer very quiet all game.
A single point will see Potton crowned champions for a third year.

WELL DONE TEAM & thanks to Roy for reffing and James for linesman duty (plus all those that helped with nets, and keeping everyone fed with tea, coffee and chocolate.
Next up Willngham at home.
