U14 Beds County Cup: Potton Colts 2 - 5 Barton Rovers

Writer: Potton Utd YouthPotton Utd Youth

The conditions were perfect for today's first game 11 v 11 home game of the season.

We now play on the bigger pitch at the school and it will take a bit of getting used to, along with the new 11 a side element, so lots to learn.

For our thrid game of the season we can see a similar thing happening in each game, we simply are not as fit as our opposition. I mentioned this in last weeks blog and it is really becoming an issue.

Training will focus on fitness more than skill in the weeks ahead, as parents we all need to encourage our players to do more outside the Colts too, please also help us getting them to bed early before games and really focused on their football.

Last season we were one of the fittest teams, not so this year. Perhaps because we have gone up a league it shows more, maybe we have lost our fitness edge, maybe a bit of both?

Put simply, we know we can do better, come on Colts, lets show it next weekend v Newmarket.

Many thanks to those parents that helped out today, it is really appreciated.
