An unfortunate result in miserable conditions. Despite having four players out through injury and illness we played the game with the same eleven players, a few out of their normal positions and a few carrying injuries. Luca hit the bar in the first half and Isaac unlucky with a blocked shot in the area. On another day we would have been two up. A lack of concentration in defence led to Ely going in at half time one nil.
The second half was a scrappy affair and Ely scored a second from a free kick which was an own goal. An impressive five minutes from Potton saw us camped in Ely‘a half but the breakthrough did not come. A disappointing result but we move onto Bar Hill next week. I know with a full squad and playing to our maximum we can beat any team in this league.
