After a long day at school and work we made the 38 mile trip to Haverhill in 27 degree heat for a 19:00 kick off.
We arrived to excellent facilities, playing on a full size pitch with in excess of fifty supporters.
A slow start allowed Haverhill to take an early lead. Kyran found Ollly Young with a long throw and after a scramble he managed to find the back of the net going into half time 1-1.
Due to the heat and size of the pitch the team were rotated and we went behind a second time when Haverhill's top scorer shot from outside the box and it deflected off one of our players to give them the lead again.
The boys continued fighting and an excellent corner from Jed resulted in Henry tapping in to level the scores. It looked like we would come away with a point, which we would have been happy with, Haverhill had three or four good footballers and were obviously used to the big pitch.
As we all know our boys fight for each other and never give up and a smart through ball from Jed resulted in Olly Young once again finishing neatly to take the lead.
We continued battling and defending with bodies being thrown in front of anything Haverhill offered and Noah making some vital saves, Olly played defence when Alfie had cramp and each and every squad member putting 100 percent effort in.
A great three points. Not pretty but three points is all that matters at the end of the season.
Men of the match went to Henry, Noah and Olly Young.
