We had another away game at bottom of the table Celts. The boys were told in no uncertain terms that they needed to turn up and not expect an easy victory.

We gave away an early penalty which was well saved by Noah but their striker was first to the rebound and tucked away to give them an early lead.

The boys looked a bit lethargic but managed to go into half time level with Olly Young scoring from a Henry assist. It was flagged offside but the ref was brave and overturned the decision and awarded the goal.

Second half the boys were told to communicate more and fine tune passing with shots from range.

A defensive lapse allowed Celts to take the lead once more.

Isaac had another shot from distance that crashed off the crossbar upwards, hit the bar again and fall to safety.

Their number three took a liking to Sam and they were both spoking to by the ref who handled the situation well.

We got level again with a good finish from Sam with his first goal for the club.

Another good break and pass from Kyran led to Sam scoring another soon after. The young linesman had his flag up but was over ruled correctly by the ref to put us in the lead for the first time.

Celts number 3 and goalie were both booked in the aftermath.

The boys tails were up and a nice through ball from Henry allowed Olly Young to fire home for his second and put the tie to bed.

We had further chances from Josh and Henry before the win was wrapped up. A great ball from Sam allowed Josh to slot home neatly and resulted in a 5-2 win.

Man of the match went to Sam for a battling performance, two goals, an assist and more importantly not getting involved with the opposition and letting the football do the talking.

Unsavoury scenes at the end with the Celts management abusing the ref, including the use of racist language. The ref booked one of them and is putting a report in. Some people just cannot be educated!

Ely away for what should be the final game of the season next Saturday. Win that and it looks like we will finish second and be promoted - just waiting on the Haverhill late postponement.

Be good if we can get the injured players and as many parents along to support the boys for this vital match and help them over the finishing line.

Postcode for next week is CB6 2SH - If in doubt ask Simon, as he turned up there a week early!
