A win and a loss

Another double header versus top of the table Sutton. We started the game brightly but fell behind to a long ball over the top resulting in their striker chipping the ball over Noah.

We fought back and a great ball from Luke, starting at left midfield, resulted in Olly Young getting the slightest of touches to level the scores.

Good work from Olly resulted in him passing to Jed who coolly slotted home into the bottom left corner.

We went into half time deservedly winning 2-1.

The boys were told to carry on as they had been and to score the next goal and put the game to bed.

They duly did with a great ball from Henry leaving Olly to slot home from a tight angle.

The boys saw the game out with relative ease despite the constant fouling and swearing from their number 10.

Man of the match went to Olly for leading the line superbly.

A quick break and we played again. Isaac had a run and was pulled down in the box.

Olly stepped up and smashed the ball against the crossbar with the keeper well beaten.

Sutton were fortunate to take the lead with a deemed back pass resulting in a free kick on the edge of the area. Sutton took advantage and scored from the resulting free kick.

The boys continued battling and playing some quick passing football when they could and a pass from Olly led to Luca scoring a lovely long range goal to go into halt time 1-1.

The second half was an even affair with both teams tiring and a draw was looking like a fair result. Sutton took the lead via a deflected clearance falling to their striker to finish off.

The boys huffed and puffed but could not find an equalising goal and lost 2-1.

Great performance and effort was shown by all the boys and we more than matched a team who are sitting at the top of the table.

Man of the match went to Isaac for driving the team on and Noah for yet again another excellent performance in goal.

Well done to the three new lads who are settling in perfectly and a joy to have.

Next week we have another double header away versus second placed Plantation. They are the form team and we look forward to the challenge of causing another upset.
